Enchanted by the charm of those places, since 1998, went there with an annual periodicity. He visited, becoming deeper and admired connoisseur, Tibet, Ladack, Zanskar, Mustang, Chantang.

Love for the mountains they said. Flavio, in 1988, took part in the expedition in the Himalayas which, before 'then the province of Como, wins a eight-thousanders, Cho Oyu 8201m. Is followed by other expeditions in 1991, in 1994, on 'Everest, and 1997.

In all his travels he got to know the culture and the Tibetan people, which is particularly sensitive to the problems so as to help the Indian monasteries of Ganden and Drepung which includes Tibetan refugees.

Our refuge

The refuge Shambala is managed by the family Spazzadeschi Flavio, Lella, Barbara, Lisa and Alexander.

The activity of rifugisti began in 1984, with the management of the refuge "Old Casera" located in Val Varrone. Immediately the family knew that this would be the activities in which to invest, precisely because it reflected the love of the mountains and the desire for freedom.

In 1986, the household began managing the refuge "Victory Hut" Alpe Giumello, facing this new challenge with enthusiasm and desire to do it on July 1 of 1987 the refuge was completely renovated. After a year, the family bought the refuge and that time, the management continued for twenty years up to 2008.

Following numerous Himalayan expeditions (climbing eight thousand meters, exploring the Ladack, Patagonia and the Lanskar), knowledge and contact with Tibetan culture, led the family the realization of a project, called "Shambala Refuge" opened on 1 August 2008. Heaven: This is the name which wrote the new complex. The beauty and richness of the Alps, the experience gained over the years, are major tourist attraction (some rifugisti there is invented!). L 'energy and positivity that the family Spazzadeschi invests in, it creates a family atmosphere and of great cordiality.

The Hall of Friendship

The refuge Shambala has available for its guests 'the room of friendship' where you can play cards, read or just chat.
The lounge is also available for corporate meetings.
